Cowgirls Honored By the ASC

RICHARDSON. Texas - Sophomores Kaela Parnell and Amanda Curry, highlighted five Hardin-Simmons volleyball players that were honored by the American Southwest Conference in voting by the league's coaches on Monday.

Parnell and Curry were each named to the All-ASC team and were also named first team All-ASC West Division. Parnell is a middle blocker from Carrollton, Texas and Curry is a setter from Lago Vista.

Joining Curry and Parnell on the All-ASC West first team was freshman Cambra Hughes, a middle blocker from Abilene.

Senior Megan Lawrence was named second team All-ASC West Division as a right side. Sophomore Sam Lucien was named honorable mention All-ASC West as a libero.

HSU went 22-9 on the year, were co-champions of the ASC West and advanced to the finals of the ASC Championship for the third straight year.
