Cowgirls Look To Repeat At ASC Volleyball Tournament

ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' volleyball team will head to the University of Texas - Dallas with the hopes of defending its American Southwest Conference title, Friday and Saturday at the UTD Activity Center in Richardson.

2007 Volleyball Championship Notes

HSU (21-8) is the No. 1 seed out of the ASC West and will receive a first round bye. The Cowgirls will play the winner of the McMurry (18-9) and East Texas Baptist (20-10) at 5 p.m. on Friday in Richardson.

The finals are set for 2 p.m. on Saturday. The other side of the bracket has Texas Lutheran (19-6) playing Mary Hardin-Baylor (13-17) in the first round with the winner playing UTD (21-9).

HSU won the 2006 ASC title with a win over UTD in the finals. The winner of the tournament gets an automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament. Admission for the tournament will be $6 for adults and $3 for students. The ASC complimentary pass list will not be recognized.
