Cowgirls Push Winning Streak To Four

 

ABILENE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' volleyball team closed the regular season with a 25-15, 25-22, 25-20 win over Dallas Christian on Saturday afternoon at the Mabee Complex. 

Grace Schulz led the Cowgirls with 13 kills in her final game on her home court. Megan Bauer added 11 kills for HSU. Myra Carrion led the defense with 19 digs

Ashley Pierce directed the offense with 38 assists in the match and the Cowgirls also had 10 service aces as a team, including four by Myra Carrion.

HSU opened the first game up with an 11-2 run and rolled to the early lead. HSU won the final two points of the second game to take a 2-0 lead with a 25-22 win. In the final game, the Cowgirls pushed out to an 18-7 lead and held on for the sweep.

HSU is now 14-15 on the year and Dallas Christian fell to 9-20. HSU will open the ASC Championship in Richardson on Thursday at noon against UT Tyler in a first-round match.
