Parnell and Fowler Earn All-American Honors
ABILENE, Texas —Kaela Parnell and Chelsie Fowler, a pair
of seniors on the Hardin-Simmons volleyball team, have been named
honorable mention All-Americans by the American Volleyball Coaches
Association.
Both players were named all-South region last week.
Parnell, a senior middle blocker from Carrolton, is the
Cowgirls’ all-time leader in kills and was named the American
Southwest Conference West Division Player of the Year. She was also
first-team all-ASC and was an academic all-region selection. She
had 316 kills and hit .356 on the year. It is the second straight
year for her to be named all-region.
Fowler, who is a senior from New Braunfels, had an outstanding year
as an outside hitter for the Cowgirls. She had 278 kills and 412
digs. She was an all-ASC selection.
The Cowgirls went 22-7 on the year, won the ASC West and advanced
to the championship match of the American Southwest Conference
Tournament.
