Cowgirls Cruise To Another Sweep

ABILENE, Texas —
Hardin-Simmons’ women’s volleyball team remained unbeaten at home with a 25-13, 25-18, 25-12 win over Mary Hardin-Baylor in the American Southwest Conference Crossover Tournament that the Cowgirls are co-hosting with McMurry.

The Cowgirls had a pretty dominating performance as they hit .369 in the match and had 10 blocks. Madison Reyes led the Cowgirls with 12 kills and Kaela Parnell had 10 kills in 13 swings for a .692 hitting percentage.

Chelsie Fowler led the Cowgirls defense with 12 digs and she also had five kills. Gracen Harris had 11 digs and two service aces. Sam Lucien had 18 assists and Erin Davis added 16. Diona Massey had seven kills and five blocks.

It was senior night for Fowler, Lucien and Parnell at the Mabee Complex. Lucien was honored for breaking the school digs record last week as well.

Christina Miller led UMHB with eight kills.

HSU is now 14-5 on the season and remained in the lead in the ASC West with an 11-2 league mark. UMHB fell to 7-21 and to 4-8 in ASC play. HSU will host East Texas Baptist at 9:30 on Saturday and will play Mississippi College at 2:30.
