Cowgirls Fall To McMurry
ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' volleyball team saw its eight-match winning streak against McMurry come to an end with a 26-28, 25-21, 25-23, 25-16 loss in American Southwest Conference action on Wednesday night at Kimbrell Arena.
The Cowgirls overcame a 22-18 deficit in the first game and came out with a 28-26 win. After that McMurry took control of game two midway through the game and held on for the win. In game three the game was tied at 22-22, but McMurry won three of the final four points to earn the win.
The fourth game was tied at 10-10, but McMurry went on a 9-2 run to take command and ran out the win.
Kaela Parnell led the Cowgirls with 18 kills and Cambra Hughes chipped in with 12. Terah Brown led McMurry with 20 kills.
Defensively, Chelsie Fowler led the Cowgirls with 16 digs and Sarah Anding had 19 for McMurry.
HSU is now 15-8 on the year and 12-3 in ASC West action. McMurry improved to 16-6 overall and 10-4 in conference play. HSU will play at the Trinity Tournament this weekend.
