Boxscore

SEGUIN, Texas – Hardin-Simmons’ volleyball team fell to Texas Lutheran 25-14, 27-25, 25-27, 25-12, Saturday afternoon in Seguin in a matchup of the only two remaining undefeated teams in the American Southwest Conference West division.

TLU took control of the first game and won 25-14, before a couple of games that could have gone either way. TLU won game two 27-25 and the Cowgirls won game three 27-25, before TLU won the match with a 25-12 game.

These two teams have played several close matches over the last three years and they shared the ASC West title last season. Winning the West is even more critical this year, because the ASC Championship will be at the ASC West Champion.

Kaela Parnell led the Cowgirls with a season-best 19 kills. Cambra Hughes added nine kills for the Cowgirls. Jessica Stetler and Jamie Jahns had 14 and 12 kills respectively for TLU.

Sam Lucien led the defense with 13 digs and Chelsie Fowler had 12 for HSU. Stetler had 21 digs for TLU.

HSU is now 6-6 overall and 3-1 in ASC West play. TLU improved to 10-2 overall and 7-0 in conference action. HSU will host the ASC Crossover tournament next weekend.
