Cowgirls Defeat Sul Ross State in Four

ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' volleyball team took a while to get going, but once it did it rolled to a 23-25, 25-9, 25-8, 25-21 American Southwest Conference win over Sul Ross State on Wednesday night at the Mabee Complex.

The Cowgirls came out flat in the first game and Sul Ross State took advantage by winning 25-23. After that the Cowgirls imposed their will winning the next game in dominating fashion.

In game two, the Cowgirls did not have a swing error and Sul Ross State was limited to two kills in the 25-9 HSU win.

HSU controlled game three from the outset as well and then hung on in game four.

Kaela Parnell continued her strong play in league play with 15 kills and Brianna Addison added 11 kills. Gracen Harris had 25 digs in the match and Amanda Mace added 14 digs to lead a strong HSU defensive effort.

The win pushed the Cowgirls to 7-6 overall and 4-1 in ASC action. Sul Ross State fell to 0-12 overall and 0-8 in conference play.

HSU will co-host the ASC crossover this weekend with McMurry. The Cowgirls play at 4:30 p.m. on Friday in their first action.
