HSU Sweeps Howard Payne

ABILENE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons’ volleyball team continued its early season conference roll with a 3-0 victory over Howard Payne, Saturday morning at the Mabee Complex, winning 25-14, 25-21, 25-10.

The Cowgirls received 10 kills from sophomore middle blocker Cambra Hughes, to pace a balanced attack. Sam Lucien had 15 digs to lead the defense.

HSU limited the Lady Jackets to just 24 kills in the match and also produced 12 blocks.

HSU is now 5-5 on the year and 2-0 in ASC play. Howard Payne fell to 7-5 overall and 1-2 in league play. HSU will play at Schreiner and conference favorite Texas Lutheran next weekend.
