STEPHENVILLE, Texas — Paced by a win by Kaitlin Roberts in the 800 and a school record in the hammer throw by Branell Falcon Hardin-Simmons' women's track had its best meet of the season on Tuesday at a windy Tarleton State Invitational in Stephenville.
Kaitlin Roberts won the 800 with a time of 2:31.34. Lauren Rodgers was fifth with a 2:35.34. Jayci Shelton won her heat in the 100 hurdles and placed ninth overall with a time of 15.29. The 4x400 team ran a 4:06.50.
Aaron Livingston finished with a 12.43 in the 100 to place seventh. The time would have been a school record if not for the wind. Martika Davis ran a 13.85. Rodgers placed sixth in the 400 with a time of 1:01.57.
Davis was seventh in the long jump with a leap of 13-8.
The throwers had a solid day as well. Branell Falcon set the school record in the hammer throw and finished third with a throw of 134-6. She was seventh in the shot, 10th in both the discus and javelin.
Rebecca Loney was seventh in the hammer with a 101-8, eighth in the javelin and 11th in the discus,
Shannon Shipp was sixth in the discus, eighth in the shot put and ninth in the hammer.
