Cowgirl Tennis Picked Third In The ASC West

RICHARDSON, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' women's tennis team has been picked to finish third in the American Southwest Conference West Division in a vote of the league's head coaches.

The Cowgirls, who went 6-0 in league play last year, lost four starters from that team. UT-Dallas is the pick to win the ASC West. The Comets received 10 of the 13 first-place votes. McMurry was picked second and the Cowgirls were third.

Concordia, Mary Hardin-Baylor, Howard Payne and Sul Ross State rounded out the poll. UT-Tyler was the pick to win the ASC East division.

HSU senior Michaela Ellison and sophomore Abigail Kendall were named to the Players to Watch list.

The Cowgirls open the season on Feb. 1 at home against Angelo State.
