Naudin Named Head Softball Coach
ABILENE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' Director of Athletics John Neese has named Chanin Naudin as the school's new head softball coach.

Naudin comes to HSU after serving as an assistant coach at Harding University this past year. In her lone season as a full-time assistant, she coached the hitters and infielders at Harding. The program had a remarkable campaign in just its fourth season as a program.

She helped lead the Lady Bisons to as high as a No. 2 national ranking in the NFCA poll during the season and finished the year ranked No. 9 nationally. Harding went 58-9 on the year and advanced to the NCAA Division II Super Regionals after claiming the regular season and tournament titles in the Great American Conference.

Her team led the GAC with a .320 batting average and was second in NCAA Division II in fielding percentage at .977.

She had also served as a graduate assistant at Harding after a distinguished playing career at the University of Kansas. She also has served as a clinician and coached for the Texas Glory travel ball program.

At KU, she was a four-year starter at third base and was named the team captain as a senior. She was named all-Big 12 in 2012. She also led the Jayhawks to a pair of NCAA Tournaments.

She also was a member of the Mexican National Team in 2015-16.

Naudin has a bachelor's of education degree in sports management from Kansas and a master's of business administration from Harding.

She will be the fourth head coach in HSU's softball history and replaces Arin Spence-Salas, who resigned in June.

An on-campus meet and greet for Naudin is slated for August 1 at 2 p.m. in the Moody Center Room 108.
