Piendak Earned NSCAA All-Region Honor

ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' junior midfielder Whitney Piendak has been named to the third-team all-South region team by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.

She had 15 goals and five assists this season and was named first-team All-ASC for the third straight year. She is currently the fifth all-time leading scorer at HSU with 38 goals and 20 assists.

"Whitney in an unbelievable competitor," said HSU head coach Marcus Wood. "She is our most skillful player, she is an outstanding defender and she is great in the air. We are all happy that she is on our team."

The announcement of the team shows the Cowgirls team-first attitude. The Cowgirls were in the top two of the region rankings for most of the season and had a 20-2 record, but claimed only one spot on the three teams.
