Five Cowgirls Earn United Soccer Coaches All-Region Honors

 

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Hardin-Simmons' women's soccer team had five players named to the United Soccer Coaches all-West region teams.

Junior goalkeeper Caitlin Christiansen, sophomore defender Kendell Groom, junior midfielder Kenne Kessler and senior defender Kirsten Parrish were all named to the first team. Junior midfielder Josey Meyer was named to the second team.

Christiansen ranks fifth nationally with a 0.326 goals against average. Groom is part of a defensive back line that has allowed just seven goals through 23 games. Kessler leads the nation in goals with 37 and Parrish has 14 goals and nine assists and leads the Cowgirl defense. Meyer leads the nation with 24 assists.

The Cowgirls are 23-0 on the year and will play in the Final Four this weekend in Greensboro, North Carolina.
