ABILENE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' women's soccer team cruised to the semifinals of the American Southwest Conference Championship Tournament with a 3-0 win over LeTourneau on Tuesday afternoon at the HSU Soccer Complex.
Olivia Hartman made it 2-0 at the 14-minute mark with her seventh goal of the season.
HSU outshot the Yellow Jackets 23-0 in the first half. In the second half, HSU had an 8-6 lead in shots and finished the day with a 31-6 advantage, including 14-4 on target.
Freshman Rachel Bean scored in the 74th minute off an assist from Parrish. It was the eighth goal of the year for Bean.
Caitlin Christiansen had four saves and worked the shutout in goal. Carrye Funk had 11 saves for LeTourneau.
HSU (17-0) will play the winner of tonight's UT-Tyler/East Texas Baptist game in the semifinals. That game will be played at 11 a.m. on Friday at the HSU Soccer Complex.
LeTourneau finished the season with a record of 9-7-3.
