Cowgirls Push Streak To 100 With 0-0 Tie Against UTD

ABILENE, Texas -Hardin-Simmons' women's soccer moved its American Southwest Conference unbeaten streak to 100 with a 0-0 tie against arch-rival Texas-Dallas, Saturday afternoon at the HSU Soccer Complex.
Both teams had plenty of chances to score in the wide open affair. HSU outshot UT-Dallas 18-11 overall and 7-4 on-goal. However, both goalkeepers were up to the task. Christi Carr had four saves for the Cowgirls and Andrea Jones had seven saves.
The match is the 11th straight time the two teams have played that the match has been decided by one goal or less. The Comets are the only team to tie the Cowgirls in the 97-0-3 ASC streak. The game marked the first time in 25 ASC games the Cowgirls did not get the victory.
HSU is now 6-2-3 overall and 5-0-1 in league play. UT-Dallas is 5-3-3 overall and 3-1-1 in ASC play. HSU hits the road to Mississippi College and Louisiana College next weekend. The game against MC will likely determine who hosts the American Southwest Conference Tournament in November.
