ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' women's soccer team moved to 9-0-1 in American Southwest Conference action with a 5-0 win over Mary Hardin-Baylor, Friday afternoon at the HSU Soccer Complex.

The Cowgirls scored in the third, ninth and 16th minutes off of corner kicks. The first one came at the 2:42 mark when Morgan Loyd scored on a double assist from Amy Kuykendall and Carlyn Powers. Powers headed home the second goal off a flick from Kuykendall and Kuykendall scored the third goal after Meg Ryan took a short corner kick and chipped it back post over the defense to a waiting Kuykendall.

HSU made it 4-0 :11 before halftime when Kelly Watson played a ball through to Cassie Sandifer who beat the keeper from just outside the 18.

Loyd scored the only goal of the second half for the Cowgirls off an assist from Miranda Bersosa.

HSU outshot the Cru 31-4, including 21-2 on goal. Ally Sargeant had 15 saves for UMHB. The Cowgirls split halves in goal between Christi Carr and Rebecca Roth.

With the win the Cowgirls are now 10-3-3 overall and 9-0-1 in league play. UMHB fell to 8-7 overall and 7-3 in conference action. HSU will host Howard Payne for senior day on Saturday at 1 p.m.
