

HSU Falls To Southwestern
ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons dropped its first home game in 32 regular-season games at the HSU Soccer Complex as the Cowgirls lost to Southwestern, 1-0, in a hard-fought non-conference game on Friday afternoon.
The HSU Soccer Complex opened in the 2005 season and HSU had not lost a regular-season game there. Overall, HSU is now 37-2-3 at its home field since it opened.
The Cowgirls had a tough time finishing off scoring chances against the Pirates. The Cowgirls outshot Southwestern 11-9, but SW had five shots on goal to only two for HSU.
Southwestern took advantage of a Cowgirl misplay on the backline to score the game's only goal at the 69:40 mark. A.J. Andreola scored the goal for Southwestern when she got loose in the box.
The Cowgirls fell to 8-3-3 on the year and Southwestern improved to 10-2-1.HSU will head back to conference play on Saturday when it plays at cross-town rival McMurry at 1 p.m.
