Cowgirls Blank Schreiner



KERRVILLE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' women's soccer team earned the right to host the American Southwest Conference Tournament with a 4-0 win over Schreiner on Friday afternoon in Kerrville.

The Cowgirls only scored one goal in the first half, that coming on a corner kick from Becca Gault to Sarah stansell. It was still 1-0 when Amy Kuykendall found Meg Ryan for a goal at the 66:43 mark.

HSU put the game out of reach with goals in the 82nd and 84th minutes by Cassie Sandifer and Allison Ray.Christi Carr worked 75 minutes in goal, before giving way to Rebecca Roth.

The Cowgirls outshot Schreiner 17-1 in the match and 10-1 on goal and took 12 corners to none for Schreiner.

Hardin-Simmons is now 12-3-3 overall and 11-0-1 in ASC play. Schreiner fell to 0-15-1 overall and 0-11-1 in conference. HSU plays at Texas Lutheran on Saturday at 1 p.m. to close out the regular season.
