

Cowgirls Blank Mississippi College
CLINTON, Miss. -- Hardin-Simmons' women's soccer team moved its American Southwest Conference unbeaten streak to 102 with a 3-0 win at Mississippi College on Saturday afternoon.
The Cowgirls took command of the ASC race and have the inside track to host the ASC Tournament with the win. HSU is now 8-2-3 overall and 7-0-1 in league play. MC received its first conference loss and fell to 11-2 overall and 6-1 in league play.
HSU got on the board in the ninth when Carlyn Powers set up Sarah Stansell for a goal. HSU made it 2-0 at the 25:14 mark when Morgan Loyd found Amy Kuykendall for a goal.
Loyd scored her 10th goal of the year in the 81st minute to put the game away.
HSU outshot MC 11-7 in the game, but on-goal it was 7-1 and HSU led in corner kicks 6-0.
The Cowgirls will play Southwestern in non-conference action on Friday before playing at crosstown rival on Saturday.
