Cowgirls Blank Louisiana College

PINEVILLE, La. - Hardin-Simmons' women's soccer team remained unscored upon in American Southwest Conference play with an 8-0 win over Louisiana College Thursday afternoon in Pineville.

The Cowgirls (7-2-3) have outscored their opponents 39-0 in ASC play. The win sets up a first-place showdown with Mississippi College on Saturday. HSU is 6-0-1 in league play and the Choctaws are 6-0. If the Cowgirls can win on Saturday and win out they would host the ASC tournament. If the Cowgirls tie or lose and Mississippi College wins out MC would host the tournament.

HSU took control of the game early when Megan Ryan set-up Morgan Loyd on a pair of goals at the 9:12 and 14:18 marks. Amy Kuykendall scored in the 19th minute and Ryan scored on an assist from Jordan Morley at the 23:29 mark.

Kate Dagenais scored the first two goals of her Cowgirl career to give HSU a 6-0 halftime lead. Morley scored four minutes into the second half and Dagenais set-up Allison Ray for the final goal at the 73:34 mark.

HSU outshot Louisiana College 54-4 in the match. Christi Carr and Rebecca Roth split halves in goal for the Cowgirls and Roth had the only two saves of the game. Carla Lambert had 21 saves for LC.
