ABILENE, Texas - For the fourth time in the last five seasons, Hardin-Simmons and Texas-Dallas will play for the American Southwest Conference women's soccer conference title as both teams advanced to the finals with wins on Saturday.

Amy Kuykendall scored on goal and assisted on another as HSU defeated Texas-Tyler 2-0 in the first semifinal and Leah Bowyer put in a goal of a corner kick for UTD at the 109:03 mark, just :57 seconds before penalty kicks to send the Comets back to the title game.

Hardin-Simmons and UTD played to a 0-0 tie on Oct. 4 in Abilene. The last 12 games between the two teams have been decided by one or less goals. HSU is 6-1-5 in the last 12 meetings with UTD.

Hardin-Simmons 2, Texas-Tyler 0

HSU has now defeated UTT 2-0 in each of the last two ASC tournaments, last year it came in the finals and this year was the semifinals.

After a rather uneventful first half that saw the teams combine for just nine shots and no goals, HSU got on the board in the 51st minute when Morgan Loyd connected on a shot that was loose in front of the net.

Kuykendall then beat Sam Fraser with a nice goal to the left side of the net. It was setup by a perfect pass from Kelsey Byars.

HSU has still not allowed a goal to an ASC opponent this season.

With the win HSU improves to 14-3-3 and UTT fell to 14-4-1 overall and will have to hope on a bid from the NCAA on Monday.

Texas-Dallas 2, Mississippi College 1

UTD's Katie Makanani scored her ninth goal of the season in the 40th minute for the only scoring of the first half.

It did not take MC long in the second half to tie the game as Christa Sutter scored on an assist from Hannah Langley just four minutes into the second half.

Neither team scored for the remainder of regulation and the game appeared to be heading to penalty kicks, before Bowyer connected on the goal off Emily George's corner kick.

MC finished its season with a record of 17-4 and UTD improved to 14-3-3.
