Has established herself as one of the elite goalkeepers in the
NCAA. 2007: Had another stellar season for the Cowgirls in goal.
She recorded a 0.37 goals against average, which is the third-best
single season in school history. Was named all-ASC and was also
named all-region. Recorded 13 shutouts and stopped 89.3 percent of
the shots she faced. Won the third penalty kick of her career in
the NCAA Tournament, by shutting down Trinity 4-2 with two saves.
Academic all-ASC selection. 2006: Was named a first-team
all-American and first-team all-ASC after a season that saw her
allow only 15 goals in 1950 minutes in goal for a 0.69 goals
against average. Was outstanding in the NCAA Tournament, helping
the Cowgirls win two shootouts. High School: Was a three-time
first-team all-state selection at Pleasanton High School.
NSCAA/Adidas South Region Team. Four-time first-team all-district
selection. Was also all-district in volleyball and track. Played
high school soccer for HSU alumni Brant Bird. Played club soccer
with the Classics coached by Mike Alderson. Personal: Daughter of
Bob and Cindy Carr. Has a sister, Traci Jernigan and a brother,
Brian. Majoring in Athletic Training. Chose HSU over UT-Dallas,
Trinity, Arkansas State and Davidson.
