Cowgirls In Third At Linda Lowery

AUSTIN, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' women's golf team is in third place after the first round of the Linda Lowery Invitational that is being played at the par-70, 5,894-yard Balcones Country Club.

The Cowgirls shot a 332 in the opening round of the spring. They are six strokes behind Southwestern and four strokes behind Concordia. Centenary College is fourth with a 342, followed by Schreiner, McMurry, Howard Payne and Hendrix.

Carly Pachuta, who missed the last half of the fall with an injury, shot 79 in her return to the lineup. She is in a tie for fifth place overall. Baylee Oehlert had an 83 as did Ashley Reimitis. It was the first career round for Reimitis, who transferred to HSU at semester. Kayleigh Mints and Kelsie Guinn each shot an 87 for HSU.  

Madyson Milliorn of Concordia leads the tournament after shooting a 75. She has a two-stroke lead over Mikayla Miller of Southwestern and Jessica Varner of Centenary.

The tournament will conclude with 18 holes on Tuesday.
