Mints Tied For Second; Cowgirls In Third At Alamo City Classic

 

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' women's golf team is tied for third and freshman Kayleigh Mints is in second place as an individual after the first round of the Alamo City Classic at the 5,872-yard par-71 Quarry Golf Club in San Antonio.

Mints had a solid round of 77 and leads the field with 11 pars. She is one stroke behind Emilee Strausburg of Trinity for the individual lead.

Baylee Oehlert is tied for fifth after an opening-round 81. She is the defending champion at this event. Heidi Moser shot an 89 for the Cowgirls and Kelsie Guinn had a 95. Jordan Daggs had a 98 in her first career round for HSU.  

Trinity leads the team race after shooting a 314. Southwestern (337), Schreiner and HSU (342) and Texas Lutheran (345) are separated by eight shots. LeTourneau and Houston-Victoria round out the field.

The tournament will conclude with 18 holes on Tuesday morning.
