Cowgirls Finish in Eighth

SALADO, Texas – Hardin-Simmons shaved 15 strokes off its first round score, but finished in eighth place at the Mary Hardin-Baylor Spring Invitational that was played at the Mill Creek Country Club in Salado.

The Cowgirls shot a 384 in the second round. DeLane Griffith shot her second straight 93. She finished with a two-day 186. Ashley Jacques shot a 97-98-195 and Tiffany Hambrick improved by 13 shots, shooting a 91 in the second round. It was the best round for a Cowgirl. Andrea Tharp shot 105-102-207.

Redlands Community College won the event with two round total of 630. HSU’s two-day total was 783. Nicola Race of Redlands shot a pair of 78’s to win the medalist race with a 156.

The Cowgirls will next be in action in Jekyll Island, Ga. for the Ogelthorpe Invitational on March 20-21.
