Cowgirls Finish Sixth

Hardin-Simmons’ women’s golf team finished in sixth place with a two-round 774 at the LeTourneau Spring Invitational that was held at the Pinecrest Country Club in Longview.

Ashley Jacques finished in third place for the Cowgirls after rounds of 81 and 91 for a 172 total, three strokes behind Alicia Yoder of UT-Dallas. DeLane Griffith 101-98 and Tiffany Hambrick 100-99 each had 199 totals for the Cowgirls and Andrea Tharp shot a pair of 102’s for a 204 total.

UT-Tyler shot a 357 to win the team title with a 740 total. They were 11 strokes better than UT-Tyler. Texarkana Community College was third with a 744.

HSU will play in the ASC Championship in two weeks in Anna, Texas.
