Cowgirls Shoot Best Round of Year

SAN ANTONIO, Texas-Hardin-Simmons' women's golf team shot a new team season low with a 349 and placed fourth at the Alamo City Classic at River Crossing Country Club in San Antonio Tuesday afternoon.

HSU shot a 353 in the first round and finished with a 704 total. The Cowgirls finished three shots behind McMurry. St. Mary's won the tournament with a 644.

Ashley Luecke led the Cowgirls with an 80-80-160 and finished fourth overall. Maris Mauldin of Southwestern shot a pair of 70's to claim the individual title.

Tiffany Hambrick shot a 175 and Ashley Jacques shot a 179 to finish in a tie for 21st and 23rd respectively. Delane Griffith shot a 190 and Andrea Tharp rounded out the team with a 213.
