Allen Named Newcomer of the Year

RICHARDSON, Texas - Ashley Allen was named the American Southwest Conference Newcomer of the Year to headline Hardin-Simmons' women's basketball awards from the ASC.

Allen was also named to the second-team all-ASC West Division team and also the all-ASC West Division defensive team. Allen averaged 13.4 points to lead the Cowgirls.

Rachel Cisneroz was named to the second-team all-ASC West Division team and Lindsey Newcombe was named honorable mention all-ASC West Division. Newcombe also was named to the all-ASC West freshman team. Cisneroz and Newcombe each averaged 12.4 points per game.

Meia Daniels of Howard Payne was named the MVP of the ASC West.

The Cowgirls went 21-6 on the year.
