ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' women's basketball team had its best offensive performance of the season in a 108-62 American Southwest Conference win over Texas Lutheran Thursday night at the Mabee Complex.

The Cowgirls controlled the game throughout. After TLU held a brief early lead, HSU went on a 17-0 run, fueled by Rachel Cisneroz' seven straight points.

HSU led 53-31 at the halftime break and never led by less than 20 points in the second half.

HSU shot 51.1 percent in the game and had six 3-pointers in the first half. HSU had 31 assists in the game on 46 made baskets.

Every Cowgirl scored and had a rebound. Only one Cowgirl played more than 20 minutes in the game. Ashley Allen led the Cowgirls with 17 points, four rebounds, four assists and four steals. Mollie Brawner had 16 points, Rachel Cisneroz had 15 points, seven assists and five rebounds and Lindsey Newcombe had 14 points.

Madilyn Caran had 22 points for Texas Lutheran and Nicole Medrano added 12 points.

HSU is now 17-5 on the year and 14-4 in ASC action. Texas Lutheran fell to 0-22 overall and 0-18 in league play. HSU will host Senior Day on Saturday at 1 p.m. when it hosts Schreiner.
