AUSTIN, Texas — Hardin-Simmons' women's basketball team fell 70-57 in American Southwest Conference action at Concordia on Saturday afternoon at the CTX Fieldhouse in Austin.
Concordia took control of the game early on and led by as many as 15 points in the first half and took a 39-25 advantage into the halftime locker room.
In the second half, Concordia took its biggest lead at 42-25 with 16:47 to play, but the Cowgirls started to chip away and eventually cut it to 56-47 with 6:47 to play, but Concordia held the Cowgirls off down the stretch hitting five straight free throws in the final 1:48.
Lashanda Luckey led three Concordia players in double figures with 14. Christen McLee and Paige Parrish each had 12 points.
Concordia shot 41.8 percent in the game and forced 24 HSU turnovers in the game.
The Cowgirls are now 11-12 on the year and 9-10 in American Southwest Conference action. Concordia is tied for the ASC lead at 18-4 overall and 16-3 in ASC play. HSU hosts Sul Ross State and Howard Payne next weekend to close out the regular season.
