Newcombe Named West Division Player of the Week

RICHARDSON, Texas - Hardin-Simmons junior center Lindsey Newcombe was named American Southwest Conference West Division Player of the Week for the second week in a row.

Newcombe averaged 28 points, 14 rebounds and 2.5 blocks to fuel two conference road wins. Newcombe, who takes the division's top weekly award for the second straight week, scored 33 points on 15 field goals and added 13 rebounds against Howard Payne. The field goal total was the highest in the league this season while the points scored were second. On the week, Newcombe shot 65 percent from the field.

The Cowgirls return to action Thursday at home against Concordia. Game time is set for 5:30 p.m.
