LUBBOCK, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' track and field teams had a stellar performance on Friday at the Texas Tech Matador Qualifier at the Sports Performance in Lubbock.
The teams combined to set four school records.
Sydney Tencate set the school record in the 1,000 meters with a time of 3:09.15. She has now set three indoor records this season and has four career indoor records in the 1,000, 1-mile, 3,000 and 5,000. She also ran a 2:27.31 in the 800 on Friday.
Kearra Greer set a pair of school marks. She ran an 8.13 in the 60 meters. Greer added the 200 meters record with a time of 26.47.
Destani Warner ran a 8.28 and Rhea Harris an 8.34, both personal bests. Jessica Eastham ran a 1:04.02 in the 400 meters.
Brandon Sparks-Moffett ran a 7.17 in the 60 meters and set the school record with a 22.66 in the 200 meters.
Sammy Magallen ran a 2:53.86 in the 1000 meters. Hasanai Chanriang ran a 50.80 in the 400.
Lorenzo Jones had a 40-2 in the triple jump and ran a team-best 2:03.52 in the 800.
