Chanriang Lowers School Mark, In Position For NCAA Bid

CANYON, Texas – Sophomore Hasanai Chanriang lowered his school record in the 400 hurdles by nearly a full second and has moved up to the 10th fastest time in the nation in Division III this season after a strong performance on Sunday at the West Texas A&M Last Chance Meet.

Chanriang ran a 52.95 and his old record was 53.78 at the Texas Tech Masked Rider meet two weeks ago.

The time, which was adjusted to 53.06 for altitude, currently ranks 10th nationally and the top 22 in each event qualifies for the NCAA meet. The final announcements will be made on Saturday.

Myra Carrion also tied her school record in the pole vault at 11-9 ¾ in the meet.
