Hunt Knocks Off Nationally-Ranked Fagundes In HSU’s Loss to UTT

 

TYLER, Texas – Hardin-Simmons junior Alex Hunt pulled off the biggest win of his career, knocking off Arthur Fagundes of Texas-Tyler as the Cowboys lost 8-1 as a team in the season opener on Saturday morning at the Summers Tennis Center.

Fagundes is a two-time All-American for the Patriots and is currently ranked 11th in the nation and Hunt beat him 7-6 (7-2), 6-3. Hunt won the first-set tiebreaker 7-2 and rolled through the second set. It was the Cowboys only win of the match.

The Cowboys are 0-1 on the year and will host Dallas Baptist on Friday morning at the Streich Tennis Center.
