Salas, Shaugnessy Named All-Region

ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons men's soccer players Ryan Shaughnessy and David Salas have been named to the all-Central region first team by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.

Shaughnessy played goalkeeper for the Cowboys and was the American Southwest Conference defensive player of the year. It is the third time in his outstanding career he has been named to the all-region team. Shaughnessy recently signed a professional contract and is playing in a pro league in Monterrey Mexico.

Salas, a junior forward from Abilene, led the Cowboys with 12 goals and six assists. He was named first-team All-ASC.

The two helped the Cowboys to the ASC title and to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2001.
