Cowboys Tie UT-Tyler

TYLER, Texas - Hardin-Simmons and UT-Tyler, two of the top teams in the American Southwest Conference standings battled to a 1-1 tie on Thursday evening at Citizens Bank Park in Tyler.
Hardin-Simmons got on the board in the 12th minute when freshman Isaiah Hicks struck a left-footed shot past UT-Tyler goalkeeper Mark Oliphant. Chris Hunter passed the ball to Hicks off a nice combination after a turnover.
The game remained 1-0 until Brandon Warren cleaned up a shot in front of the goal to tie the game in the 61st minute.
The Cowboys had several scoring chances that were thwarted by the UT-Tyler defense. HSU goalkeeper Logan Waters was amazing in goal for the Cowboys, recording 12 saves.
HSU is now 3-3-1 on the year and UT-Tyler is 3-2-1 and both teams are 2-0-1 in league play. HSU plays at Concordia at Cedar Park High School on Saturday.
