Cowboys Rally Past Mary Hardin-Baylor

ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' men's soccer team rallied from a 1-0 deficit to defeat Mary Hardin-Baylor 2-1 in American Southwest Conference action at the HSU Soccer Complex on Friday afternoon.
The Cru got in the board in the 30th minute on a nice scoring combination. Nick Arredondo hit a big ball into the box and Garrett Graham touched it to Tyler Wagner who finished the play to make it 1-0.
The Cowboys evened the game at the 39:01 mark when Estevan Arbaiza sent a perfect corner kick to freshman Rees Crosby, who finished it on the back post for his first career goal.
HSU went up in the 78th minute when Arbaiza hammered home a penalty kick after a foul in the box. Arbaiza went to the low left corner to beat Cru goalkeeper Mark Miller.
UMHB outshot the Cowboys 14-7, including 8-4 on goal, but HSU goalkeeper Logan Waters was up to the task with seven saves. HSU had eight corners in the game, including six in the second half.
With the win the Cowboys improved to 8-3-4 overall and 7-1-2 in league play. UMHB, who is coached by former HSU player Brad Bankhead, fell to 4-6-3 overall and 3-5-3 in ASC action. The Cowboys host Howard Payne for senior day on Saturday at 3 p.m.
