Cowboys Fall To Texas Lutheran, 2-0
SEGUIN, Texas - Hardin-Simmons dropped a 2-0 decision to a very motivated Texas Lutheran team in American Southwest Conference men's soccer action on Saturday afternoon in Seguin.
The Bulldogs had to have the win to extend their season and Pedro Martinez scored in the 16th minute and Michael Weatherby put the game away in the 58th minute.
The loss ended the Cowboys chances at the top seed in the ASC. HSU needed a win or a tie to claim first place. Instead, the Cowboys will be the second seed in the ASC Championship next weekend.
HSU will receive a first round by in the tournament that will be held at UT-Tyler. HSU will play the winner of UT-Dallas and Texas Lutheran at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
The Cowboys end their regular season with a record of 10-5-4 overall and 9-2-2 in league play. TLU improved to 8-6-3 overall and 7-4-2 in ASC play.
