Cowboys Fall Late At Mississippi College
CLINTON, Miss. - Mississippi College received a questionable penalty kick call in at the 89:38 mark of the game to tie the game and then won in overtime in American Southwest Conference action against Hardin-Simmons on Saturday in Clinton, Miss.
The Cowboys played nearly the last 30 minutes of the game a man down from a red card. HSU was called for eight cards in the game. Despite all of the cards the Cowboys still had a 1-0 lead until the last :22 seconds.
Erik Stewart setup Cody Oswald for a goal at the 14:30 mark of the first half. MC had 31 shots in the game, but only seven of them were on target.
The loss was the first of the season in league play for the Cowboys. HSU is 6-4-4 overall and 5-1-2 in league play. MC is now 8-2-1 and 5-2 in conference action.
HSU will play crosstown rival McMurry next Saturday.
