Cowboys Remain Undefeated in ASC Play

PINEVILLE, La. - Hardin-Simmons' men's soccer team remained undefeated in American Southwest Conference play with a 4-1 win over Louisiana College Thursday afternoon in Pineville.

The Cowboys jumped to a quick lead when team captain Colin McDaniel scored on an assist from Isaiah Hicks just 5:56 into the match. McDaniel returned to the starting lineup since being injured in the second game of the season. It was his first goal of the season.

LC tied the game on a Barret Broussard goal just :35 seconds later. HSU took the lead for good when Tyler Murray found Griffin Pedigo right at the halftime buzzer to make it 2-0. It was Pedigo's first goal as a Cowboy.

At the 58:26 mark Pedigo's twin brother Robert found freshman Cody McGrath for a goal and HSU scored its final goal at the 84:50 mark when Patrick Almond hammered home a penalty kick.

Logan Waters won the game in goal for the Cowboys. The freshman is now 5-0-2 in goal for the Cowboys in league play and he has allowed just two goals in the seven games.  

HSU improved to 6-3-4 overall and 5-0-2 in conference action. LC is 0-11 overall and 0-6 in ASC action. The Cowboys play at Mississippi College on Saturday.
