O'Brien's Goal Gives HSU A Win
ABILENE, Texas - Sophomore Chris O'Brien headed home a goal in the 79th minute to give Hardin-Simmons' men's soccer team a 1-0 win over LeTourneau in the American Southwest Conference opener for both schools, Friday evening at the HSU Soccer Complex.
O'Brien finished off a great play by the Cowboys that was started by Isaiah Hicks' pass to Estevan Abraiza who sent a ball right to O'Brien's head.
Kyle Davis had been solid in goal for LeTourneau, stopping several Cowboy chances. Logan Waters was equal to the task in goal for the Cowboys. Waters stopped all seven shots on goal.
HSU outshot LeTourneau 21-15, including 10-7 on-goal.
The Cowboys are now 2-3 on the year and will play host to East Texas Baptist on Saturday at 4 p.m. LeTourneau fell to 1-4 overall and 0-1 in league play.
