ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' men's soccer team shutout Howard Payne 2-0 on Senior Day at the HSU Soccer Complex on Saturday in American Southwest Conference action.

After a scoreless first half, Berto Martinez scored off a double assist from Rees Crosby and Cody Oswald. Martinez was one of two seniors for the Cowboys. The other Cowboy senior Chinedu Okoro led a defense from his sweeper position that blanked the Jackets and limited them to five shots in the game.

HSU put the game away at the 79:19 mark when Chris Hunter hit fellow freshman Cody McGrath for a goal.

Logan Waters recorded another shutout in goal for the Cowboys with three saves. HSU outshot HPU 25-5 in the game.

The Cowboys are now 9-3-4 overall and 8-1-2 in American Southwest Conference action. Howard Payne fell to 5-6-4 overall and 4-6-2 in league play. HSU closes its regular season next weekend on the road at Texas Lutheran and Schreiner.
