Cowboys Finish Sixth at UTD

RICHARDSON, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' men's golf team finished sixth in the UT Dallas Invitational Tuesday afternoon at the par-72, 7,002-yard Sherrill Park Golf Course in Richardson.

UT-Tyler won the tournament with a team score of 915. The Cowboys shot rounds of 326, 313 and 323 to finish in sixth place with a total of 962.

Brad Leeper led the Cowboys with a tie for ninth place. He was the leader heading into the final round, but shot an 85. He finished with a three-round 233. Michael Weehunt and J.C. Eagle tied for 21st with three-round totals of 239. Brian Laing shot a 257 and Dustin Minchew shot a 267. Laing had the round of the day for the Cowboys with a 77.

HSU will play in the West Regional next week.
