Leeper Leads At UTD

RICHARDSON, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' sophomore golfer Brad Leeper is leading the medalist race at the UT-Dallas Invitational after two rounds on Monday at the par-72, 7,002-yard Sherrill Park Golf Course in Richardson.

Leeper shot rounds of 79 and 69 and his two-round total of 148 gives him a one-shot lead over Patrick Palmer of LeTourneau. His three-under 69 was the only sub-par round of the day.

The Cowboys are in sixth place after two rounds in the 13-team field. HSU shot a 326 in the first round, but improved to a 313 in the second round. UT-Tyler is in first place after shooting 304-302 for 606 total.

Michael Weehunt shot a 80-76-156, J.C. Eagle fired a 84-77-161, Brian Laing recorded a 83-97-180 and Dustin Minchew shot a pair of 91's for a 182 total.

The tournament will conclude with 18 holes on Tuesday.
