Eagle Finishes Third; Cowboys Sixth

CONCAN, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' men's golf team was four strokes out of the lead heading into the final round of the Con Can Invitational, but a tough second day saw the Cowboys slip to sixth place, Tuesday afternoon in Concan.

J.C Eagle was in the medalist lead but fell to third after shooting a 73-79-152, two strokes behind Ryan Eastman of Mary Hardin-Baylor.

UMHB took the team race after shooting a 307 to finish with a two-round 620, eight strokes better than second-place TLU and 40 strokes better than the Cowboys.

Brian Laing shot an 82-84-166 for the Cowboys, Michael Weehunt went 79-88-167, Brad Leeper shot 83-92-175 and Derek Eddins rounded out the lineup with a 88-95-183.

The Cowboys will next be in action March 31 at the UTD Invitational in Richardson.
