Rodriguez, Hemphill, Owens Named All-Americans

SALEM, Va. – Hardin-Simmons' football team had three players named to the D3football.com All-American team that was announced prior to the Stagg Bowl on Friday night.

Vic Rodriguez, a senior center from Mesquite, was named a first-team All-American. He adds that to All-American nods from the American Football Coaches Association, the Associated Press and he was named the Rimington Award winner as the nation's top center.

Jaquan Hemphill, a junior running back from Coleman, was named an honorable mention selection. He was the American Southwest Conference offensive player of the year after rushing for 1,028 yards and 14 touchdowns. He also had 22 catches for 317 yards and three more scores.

Riley Owens, a first-team all-ASC performer at guard, was named to the honorable mention team as a guard. He is a senior from Abilene Cooper.
