Cowboys Ranked No. 24

ABILENE, Texas - For the first time since the second week of the 2007 season, the Hardin-Simmons football team is in the D3football.com weekly poll, checking at No. 24 after the Cowboys moved to 2-0 with a 29-22 win over Linfield on Saturday.
Senior slotback Mychal Carrillo, who had nine catches for 84 yards and two touchdowns in the game, was named the American Southwest Conference offensive player of the week. It is the third career ASC honor for Carrillo.
The Cowboys received 98 votes in this week's poll. Mt. Union was the No. 1 pick in the poll, followed by UW-Whitewater, ASC foe Mary Hardin-Baylor, St. John's and Capital.
