

Cowboys Set School And Conference Records For 3-Pointers
KERRVILLE, Texas — Hardin-Simmons’
men’s basketball team set several school and conference
records in a 102-83 win over Schreiner Thursday night in American
Southwest Conference action in Kerrville.
The Cowboys set the school and ASC record for 3-pointers attempted
and made in a game with 21 makes on 66 attempts. The old Division
III era school record for attempts was 38 and the ASC record was 49
by LeTourneau. The old Division III era school record for makes was
16 and the ASC record for makes was 20 by LeTourneau.
HSU also set the season record for 3-pointers made. The old record
was 193 and the Cowboys have now made 207 for the year.
Five Cowboys hit double figures in the game. Carlos Singer had 19,
Kyle Spitzer, RIan Stubbs and Terrence Willis all had 18 points and
Mark Schlott had 15.
Stubbs had a career-best 14 rebounds and Spitzer hit six
3-pointers, which were a career high. Riley Battle led Schreiner
with 23 points.
HSU is now 8-16 overall and 7-13 in ASC play. Schreiner fell to
6-18 overall and 6-13 in league play. HSU closes its season on
Saturday at Texas Lutheran.
