Cowboys Fall To UTT
TYLER, Texas - Hardin-Simmons’ men’s basketball team
could not overcome giving up 24 offensive rebounds in a 80-66 loss
to UT Tyler on Thursday night in American Southwest Conference
action at the Herrington Patriot Center in Tyler.
HSU and UTT went back and forth in the first half and the Patriots
led 37-34 at the break. HSU went over seven minutes without a field
goal from the end of the first half into the second half and UTT
was able to take a double-digit lead.
Terrence Willis had his best game as a Cowboy with 21 points and
nine rebounds and Steven Luckey added 13 points.
Michael Johnson led a balanced attack for the Patriots with 22
points. Hakeem Kareem added 14 points and 11 rebounds.
HSU falls to 3-4 on the year and 2-1 in ASC play. The Patriots
improved to 3-4 overall and 3-0 in league play. HSU is off until it
hosts McMurry on Dec. 15.
